6/12/2023 0 Comments Dare you netflix![]() While Addy tries to get the password cracked, at school she plays poker face as Beth greets her coldly, potentially aware that she has her phone. It’s something that prompts her to look through the archival videos of them together until something called “hiderhole” pops up. She refuses initially but in private snatches up Beth’s phone and heads home, intent on breaking into Beth’s phone, eventually doing so using the password “Addy”. In the changing room however, Addy expresses concerns that Beth may be lying about not capturing the video, until her best friend goads her and convinces Addy to check. Allowing a moment of weakness to wash over her, she tells Addy that her affair “isn’t what it looks like”. Taking Addy aside, Colette mentions that Beth isn’t much of a team player and doubts her tenacity in the face of the squad. The next day, she shows the girls a video and tells them exactly what they’ll be working on. ![]() For now at least, Beth and Addy stay on her side. Leaving and heading back to training, Colette faces competition and push-back from the girls regarding the top girl being changed to Tacy for the session. She asks the girls to keep her mishap to themselves and despite Beth’s antagonising, Addy reassures her, “Don’t worry Coach, we’ve got your back”, a statement that Beth picks up on and talks to Addy about later on.Ĭolette does damage control and breaks up with Sarge Will Mosley, telling him she can’t take any chances right now given how many eyes are on her. It’s not a deal breaker but with a reasonably slow-paced slice of drama this week, it does become more noticable.Įpisode 2 of Dare Me begins with Colette overseeing another gruelling training session before telling the girls to go home, except Addy and Beth though who join Colette in her office where she offers them both a cigarette. ![]() But what exactly Couch French was hiding remained unclear.I mentioned last time about Dare Me’s similarities to HBO’s Euphoria and this week the show solidifies this further with an abundance of stylistic shots including zooms, slow-mo segments and monologues. The finale ended with hints that Colette and her husband Matt were on the crime scene and could be at least partly responsible. Like the novel, Dare Me turned into a murder mystery, in which military recruiter Will "Sarge" Mosley (Zach Roerig) turned up dead from a gunshot wound, and no one would admit what happened. The season ended on a heck of a cliffhanger, too. The first season loosely followed the book's plot, with Coach French favoring Addy and demoting Beth, setting up a terrifying rivalry. The series starred Willa Fitzgerald as Coach Colette French, with Herizen Guardiola as cheerleader Addy and Marlo Kelly as Beth, the captain of the cheer squad and Addy's emotionally abusive BFF. So, will there be a Dare Me Season 2? Unfortunately, the hoped-for Netflix bump has come too late, as USA already decided a Season 2 wasn't in the cards.īased on the 2012 mystery novel by Megan Abbott, Dare Me was initially put into production back in January 2019 it premiered on USA at the end of that same year. Then, the series got an unexpected bump in 2020 when Netflix scooped up the streaming rights for Season 1, turning this drama of competitive high school cheerleaders into a TV series competitive for fans' hearts. When Dare Me landed on the USA Network at the end of 2019, it seemed like one of their stereotypical scripted series that would run for years, not unlike Suits or Burn Notice.
